Green Light V – TR-S Birthday + Treats Volume 1 Release Party [4.1.10]

On April 1st, Miss Lady Soul and I held a special edition of GREEN LIGHT, our monthly party at Sava’s State Street Café. April’s GREEN LIGHT doubled as my birthday party and the mixtape launch for Treats Volume 1.

To celebrate the occasion, we had Tommey Walker’s artwork on full display in the entrance, as well as custom made treats from Cupcake Station. Towards the end of the night, we gave out advance copies of TV1 and served slices from this huge b-day cake (thanks Sis!)

This night would not have been possible without the incredible staff of Sava’s, and the dedication of the GREEN LIGHT team. Much love to Carlita and E, and thank you to all the friends and family who came out to support!

TONIGHT – Green Light V: Teddy Ruck-Spin Mixtape Release + Birthday Party

Tonight is the last GREEN LIGHT of the school year. To close things out, we’re celebrating my birthday and the release of Treats Volume 1. Since we’re in a celebratory mood, Miss Lady Soul and I waived the cover for everyone and will be giving out free copies of the mixtape, along with special TR-S treats.

Treats Volume 1 is a blend tape that also features new vocals from Mae Day, Clear Soul Forces, J.A.M.E.S. WATTS, Suai and Gist The Essence. In addition to the hard copies given out tonight, the mixtape will be available for free download on April 3rd at http://www.treats.djteddyruckspin.com

GREEN LIGHT is at Sava’s State Street Cafe on 216 South State St. in Ann Arbor. Doors at 10:30pm. Drink specials are $3 Coronas and $5 Green Light Punch.

World Premier – Teddy Ruck-Spin “A Night Out” feat. Mae Day + GREEN LIGHT Recap [1.21.11]

For January’s edition of GREEN LIGHT, Miss Lady Soul and I called on R&B phenom Suai to bless the stage. Suai took control of Sava’s during her set and killed it with selections from her upcoming album, Almost Wrote You A Love Song.

To cap off the night, Miss Lady Soul made a special announcement about an upcoming project of mine…

In case you couldn’t tell from the clip… new TR-S mixtape coming soon! The tape, Treats, Vol. 1, is set to drop this Spring.

The first single, as featured in the video, is “A Night Out.”

“A Night Out” is a two part single featuring blends of Kanye West and Wale, as well as a special guest appearance by Mae Day.

This past Saturday, Miss Lady Soul and I hosted the first ever GREEN LIGHT at Sava’s State Street Café. The night began with a birthday tribute mix to Hova, and later featured MJ classics, N*E*R*D album cuts, etc.

We were thrilled with the outcome and vibe of the night… much love to everyone who came out!

Over the years, Miss Lady Soul and I have thrown some sick house parties. As time went on, we thought why not take it to a bigger stage? And what better place to do this than Sava’s, one of Ann Arbor’s finest restaurants and the host of F.O.K.U.S.’ 1992 themed party earlier this year.

We’ll be celebrating the first edition of GREEN LIGHT with a birthday tribute mix to Jay-Z, drink specials, and only the best in club music until 2 am.
